Tonna Tigers 10s vs Pontardulias 10's
Today Tonna Tigers played their last but one game of the season has they took the journey down west to take on the "Bont".
after a rare midweek slip up defeat at Cwmavon the Tigers have hit back in style beating Measteg Celtic 98-0 and Felinfoel 63-0
and they continued that run a against a gutsy Pontardulais side today. The 1st half was a close affair with both sides eager
to run the ball on this sunny sunday morning,  our forwards Mitchio, Josh, Matthew, Dafydd, Cameron, Maxx and Brad were
all outstanding putting themselves about and creating a platform for the backs to feed off, while our backs Nathan, Morgan,
Dylan Ralph, Kai, Jordan, Dyfan and Dylan Rees were excellent throughout tackling everything and finishing superbly.
Tonna upped the tempo in the 2nd half and put in a brilliant performance to run away with the game, the Tigers scored 8 tries
through Morgan Kemeys(3), Josh Hughes(2), Dyfan Ceredig, Jordan Major and the impressive Maxx Williams, with Morgan
converting 6 of the tries. overall a stop start 1st half showing but an outstanding 2nd half performance from the Tigers
to take us into the Bryncoch rugby festival next week full of confidence and raring to go.
"WELL DONE YOUNG TIGERS".

Tonna U15s v Gorseinon U15s
After a shocking defeat to Brynamman the following week Tonna shocked Gorseinon early on with great pressure and passing play they were able to keep Gorseinon in their half. Constant pressure from the forwards nearly resulted in Jordan Watkins just going short. Tonna winning the lineout spread the ball wide allowing Conner Perkins going over in the corner. Both sides showed commitment and enthusiasm but constant defending neither sided were able to capatailse before half time.
Minutes after the kick off Outide half Josh James again showin his pace scored and converted. Tonna stepped off the gas midway through the 2nd halfand some slack passing and tackling resulted in Gorseinon to capatalise and score 2 tries minutes of each other. With the game nearing the final whistle Tonna applied constant pressure enabling Josh James to hack the ball down field and then chip ahead and win the race to the line again converting.
Once again credit goes out to everyone showing their commitment and self belief in your team mates. Yet again proving it difficult for the coaches to single out man of the match

Tonna Tigers 10s vs Bryncoch 10s
On a glorious sunny spring morning Tonna Tigers visited our closest rivals and a team on top form Bryncoch Blues.
The Tigers were told all week about the downfalls with starting off slow, which as been our achilles heal all season.
But today that was laid to rest has the Tigers were outstanding from start to finish, up front the forwards, Josh, Maxx
Matthew, Miticho, Dafydd and Kai were all outstanding, they secured ball at the breakdown, tackled anything in a blue
shirt and won countless rucks not only from our ball but winning turnover ball from the hosts has well, also they made huge
ground every time they went forward. behind the forwards our backs,  Rhys, Morgan, Nathan, Brad, Dyfan and Dylan Rees
were all outstanding, their Blitz defence give the dangerous Bryncoch backs no room to play and tackled them on every
occasion. with ball in hand they caused no end of problems for the Blues defence. back to the game Tonna raced into a (2) try
lead, our 1st score came from excellent rucking with the ball fed to our rampaging rhino Dafydd Thomas who burst is way
Through the Bryncoch defence to touch down, the 2nd try again great work from the forwards which released our backs with
slick passing along the backline to Morgan Kemeys who tied the Blues defenders in knots to sprint over the line to score.
The home team pulled a try back with the last play before half time after a clear knock on was missed by the home ref.
In the second half the Tigers were again excellent throughout taking it on from the first half, the Blues did draw level
with the 1st score of the half, but it was the Tigers who upped tempo and were denied a clear try after Dyfan Ceredig was
alleged to be held up over the try line!!!, Tonna were not to be denied that winning score and after constant pressure on the
Blues line Matthew Rees peeled away and smashed over the line which regained the lead for the Tigers, the Tigers kept
the Blues under pressure on their own line for the remainder of the game to gain a totally deserved victory against a
very good Bryncoch blues side.
"WELL DONE BOYS, EVERYONE OF YOU PLAYED OUTSTANDING".
FT. Bryncoch Blues 10-15 Tonna Tigers.

Tonna Tigers 10s vs Cwmgors 10s
One week on from the afan nedd district tournament Tonna Tigers got back on track and to winning ways against a very good Cwmgors side.
Has normal the Tigers were slow out of the blocks allowing the visitors to dominated the first half, weak tackling let Cwmgors take an early
score and lead 7-0, Tonna were just not competing at the rucks and the break down area which put us on the back foot for the whole 1st half.
surprisingly the Tigers did score (2) tries in the 1st half, both of them brilliant opportunist score's by Morgan Kemeys who jinked and side stepped
is way over from is own half for both tries. Cameron Morgan converted both tries to put the Tigers ahead at the interval.
HT. Tonna Tigers 14-7 Cwmgors.
After a HT rollicking from the coaches the Tigers took the field all hyped up and raring to go, but has in the first half sloppy passing let our
visitors draw level, That was the last time the Tigers line was under threat for the rest of the match cos Tonna finally got their game going
and secured ball at the ruck + break down, The Tigers scored (2) quick tries to push ahead, from a switch move Dafydd Thomas burst through
tackles to smash over, and a silky run from Dylan Rees saw him dart over in the corner both tries were again converted by Cameron Morgan.
The Tigers were now dominating with Josh Hughes, Matthew Rees and Dafydd Thomas doin alot of hard work up front giving the team plenty
of ball to play with, the Tigers had time for (1) more score, from a attacking scrum and switch move Dyfan Ceredig smashed is way across the
line to claim the try, Rhys Finnemore added the conversion with the final play of the match. an huge improvement on the 1st half but we have
got to learn to play for whole match boys not 1 half only." WELL DONE BOYS".

Tonna v Pontardawe
With tonna having some tough games recently they were not awaiting the arival of Ponty. Tonna only able to field 14 players experienced some straight talking from their coaches.Tonna decided to apply the pressure straight from the kick off this enabled them to put Ponty on the back foot resulting in Outside half Josh James to show his pace scoreing and converting for the opening score. With both teams increasing the pressure Ponty hit back through some slack tackling enabled them to scored but unable to convert. Tonna put some great rugby together with both forwards and backs interlinking resulting in a penalty for the home side. Some quick thinking Tonna kicked down field and the pace of Josh James again proved vital enabling him to convert once again.
The second half proved a different story to the first Ponty kept Tonna penned on their defensive line but constant defending and decissions resulted in tonna having 2 boys sent to the bin, this enabled Ponty to score and convert. Ponty on the front foot again scored and converted leaving Tonna 19 -14 down with 5 mins to go. Tonna started to rattle Ponty again and with self belief form all 14 boys appled more pressure and commitment throwing the ball about resulted in centre Conner Perkins going over in the corner. A touch line conversion from Josh James with the final kick of the game gave Tonna their first win over their rivals.
With some great deliberation all boys were awarded man of the match as they all played exceptional

Tonna Tigers 10s vs Crynant 10s
Today we hosted our valley rivals Crynant with the Tigers again racking up 60 plus points to stay unbeaten since "halloween" morning.
with our rucking again improving the Tigers played some good running rugby, with ball being secured at the breakdown the Tigers spread
the ball on every chance they could and scored some brilliant tries along the way, the winning margin would have been greater but for
alot of last ditch tackling from our visitors. Tonna scored (9) tries today through Dafydd Thomas(3), Morgan Kemeys(2) and 1 each for
Matthew Rees, Dyfan Ceredig, Nathan Davies and Cameron Morgan, all the tries were converted by Cameron Morgan(7) and
Rhys Finnemore(2). confidence throughout the Squad is booming with yet another convincing win for the squad.

Tonna Tigers 10s vs Felinfoel 10s
Tonna 10s hosted Felinfoel this morning which turned out to be our 1st home match since the 21st november, with the pitch
very muddy from fridays downpours the Tigers give a fantastic team performance to hammer our visitors from down west.
In recent weeks the Tigers havent been showing up wen it comes to rucking which have left us coaches pulling our hair out
watching from the sidelines, but after drilling it into the boys in training on tuesday and before todays game their response
was outstanding from start to finish. Tonna scored (5) first-half tries, through Matthew Rees (2), Dylan Rees, Dafydd Thomas,
and Morgan Kemeys with Rhys Finnemore converting (3) and Cameron Morgan (2).
HT. Tonna Tigers 35-7 Felinfoel.
The second half the Tigers didnt ease up and were aggressive and ruthless in their play, rucking and tackling was again
outstanding and the Tigers claimed many turnovers from Felinfoel ball, with our players also settling into their positions
they have been given everything is starting to fall into place. Tonna again scored (5) second-half tries, Matthew Rees crossed
for(2) to take him today to (4), Dyfan Ceredig smashed is way over and Morgan Kemeys added (2) more, Cameron converted
(4) of the tries, a brilliant TEAM performance today "WELL DONE EVERYONE LETS KEEP IT GOING".

Tonna Tigers 10s vs Glynneath 10s
For only the fourth time since november 21st  Tonna Tigers have been able to take the field due to the extreme weather that has come our way.
The only other games we have played since we hammered Mumbles on that crisp november morning have been 2 drawn matches against
Mumbles (19-19), Penclawdd (10-10) and a thumping win over Vardre (60-0), with all the games being away from home,

Todays game was a totalbruiser with both sides defences excellent, but the Tigers are a very physical side and they had the upper hand throughout the contest.
only 1 try scored today and that was scored by the rampaging Dafydd Thomas who burst through 3 defenders score in the corner, the
conversion was kicked by Cameron Morgan, Also i would like to add that 3 new players have joined us since january  making our squad that
much stronger, the players are Brad Dowding and brothers Mitchio and Akio Anthony. "WELCOME TO THE TEAM BOYS".

Tonna Tigers 10s vs Mumbles 10s

on a bleak autumns morning Tonna Tigers put Mumbles Pirates to the sword with an excellent team display.
it was Mumbles who started the scoring in the game taking an early lead, that only sprung the Tigers into life which
saw them score 5 first half tries through Dafydd Thomas, Morgan Kemeys, Cameron Morgan, Rhys Finnemore
and scoring is 1st try for the club Maxx Williams. Cameron and Rhys both kicked 2 conversions each.
HT. Tonna Tigers 33-12 Mumbles Pirates.
The second half saw the Tigers step up the gears and were ruthless in their finishing, with 3 players dropping out through
illness today Tonna were down to a bare 11 players but all 11 were outstanding on the field today and a special
mention to Josh Hughes who played through illness for the cause today. also the boys took on board what we went
over in training on wednesday nite, useing the overlap, passing and not looking for contact. the Tigers scored 5 second
half tries,  Morgan Kemeys and Dafydd Thomas both completing hat-tricks and Jordan Major also darted over the line.
Rhys Finnemore added 3 conversions and Cameron Morgan also kicking 1. there were big displays from Dylan Ralph,

Tonna  v Gorseinon

Tonna started slowly against Gorseinon, and Gorseinon took full advantage with two early tries opening up a 14 point lead. To Tonnas absolute credit the boys didn’t let it affect them and the forwards fronted up to the much bigger Gorseinon pack. They put Gorseinon under pressure and with quick recycling and passing Josh James ran in the fisrt of his five tries. Tonnas pack continued to match Gorseinon in an evenly contested game. Gorseinon scored a third try but Tonna again responded with two tries of their own, the first came with some excellent linking between forward and backs for Josh James to get his second score.A third try came shortly after, with an inch perfect crossfield kick by Jordan Adderley allowing Josh to score close to the posts.

HT 19 – 17

The second half followed much the same pattern as the first, though Tonna were hit by injuries and had to adapt quickly to the changes, which to their credit they did. Gorseinon did score another 20 points through the half but Tonna fought hard and ran in another two tries through some driving forward play and good back play coupled with the excellent running of Josh James.

It was a great game to watch, and a good advert for junior rugby, the boys showed great ability and passion. It is wonderful to see the development of the side and each player can feel proud of their contribution, on another day it could easily have been a Tonna victory.

Well done Lads.

This performance by Josh James was  junior section record scoring all 31pts. The club senior record record stands at 35pts. WELL DONE.

Tonna Tigers 10s vs Skewen 10s
Tonna 10s came through a very physical contest with flying colours against a hyped up Skewen team.
the 1st half was dominated by the Tigers, with Skewen hardly able to step foot in the Tigers half.
the only disapointment  was Tonna could not take their chances which would have put them out of sight.
the boys have got to learn to use the overlap when its there, and not look for contact when theres a player
outside him. Morgan Kemeys scored a fine try to put the Tigers ahead Cameron Morgan kicked the conversion.
HT. Tonna Tigers 7-0 Skewen.
The second half was one hell of a physical battle with the Tigers giving much better than they took, which made us
coaches very proud of the whole team for not taken a backward step in the ongoing battle of the second half.
Too lapses of consentration let skewen take the lead, but Tonna came storming back to win the match with tries
from Cameron Morgan and Dylan Rees with Cameron kicking both conversions. There was fine perfomances from
Matthew Rees, Josh Hughes, Kai Wadham and Dafydd Thomas. But has mentioned above the whole squad stood
up for themselves today and didnt take a step backwards. "WELL DONE BOYS".

This weeks match report is posted by Mr Damian Lloyd (Ex Sun, Mirror, Gardening Times and Skewen ECHO Reporter)

Kenfig Hill shocked Tonna early on with a well worked try after 1 min after good passing through their back line, this then sprung Tonna into life,
with the Tonna forwards on the front foot, Rob Price went over in the corner. Tonna forwards were now in the driving seat especially at scrum time, Skipper Jack Lloyd was winning scrum after scrum against the head, this allowing super-fast fly-half Josh James to breakaway with a handful of superb individual scores for himself and for the unstoppable full-back Jordan Adderley, there was also a good try from new centre Lloyd Thompson following a charge down, Further scores followed with some barnstorming forward running from the backrow of Ben Griffin, Chris Sutton and Ben Doyle, who all went over for Tries. Tonna unfortunateley took their foot of the gas in the final 5 minutes of the game to concede 2 well worked Kenfig Hill tries but the game was well over by then.

advantage of poor tackling throughout the match from the Tigers. the boys must realise even at this age
they ALL must tackle because on this performance  it was non-existent and by not tackling we will

Tonna  v Llantwit Vadre
Tonna showing some great enthusiasm from the start they penned Vadre into their 22 but some great defending from the home side enabled them to quickly turn the pressure on Tonna. Tonna again showing their interplay betwenn forwards and backs enabled them to put the first scores on the board thanks to outside half Josh James also converting. Again Tonna dug deep  with some great interplay from back rowers Jordan Watkins, Ben Griffin and Chris Sutton continued the forward momentum resulting  in a further try from Josh James who also converted. Tonna stepped of the gas allowing Vadre to open their scoring.  Vadre continued to apply the pressure but through some tough Tonna defence were unable to capitilise.
Tonna forwards decided to take some pressure of the backs with some good mauling resulting in Rob Price to drop over the line. Further Tonna pressure resulted to Josh James having to much pace for the Vadre defence creating  a further 3 tries from within his own 22 and 1 convertion easing the pressure and putting them well infront. Tonna approched the game with great cofidence and commitment from All players. Lets approach every game with the same attitude and main thing Enjoy yourselves.

Tonna Tigers v Bryncoch Eagles
Tonna Tigers took on their local rivals Bryncoch blues in a pulsating match on sunny mid-autumn morning.
the tigers couldnt get their game going in the first half due to their slow start out of the blocks and some
indifferent refereeing which saw Bryncoch take a two try lead over the home side at the close of the half
HT. Tonna Tigers 0-10 Bryncoch blues.
after a few home truths were said at the half time team talk  the Tigers came out a totally different side
and it wasnt long before they got on the scoreboard, constant pressure from the forwards saw Morgan Kemeys
wriggle is way over the line, now the Tigers were really up for it and from a set scrum Dyfan Ceredig burst
through tackles to crash over and level the match, the Tigers hassled, pressured and tackled everytime
Bryncoch had the ball they just couldnt get out their own half. more Tonna pressure resulted in the winning

   Tonna U15'S  v Rhigos U15's
With the new season getting under way and the arrival of Rhigos, Tonna game out firing on all cylinders. With some great interplay between forwards and backs it wasn't long before Will Bowen crossed for the opening try converted by Josh James. This gave the boys some futher encouragement and they continued to cause problems for their oponents. Jesse Mulligan crossed for his first ever try in Tonna colours with Jordan Adderly and Conner Perkins crossing before half time the latter two tries converted by Josh James
The second half again caused further problems for Rhigos with the forwards producing some great attacking positions for the fast running back, this giving Jordan Adderley his second try of the game again converted by Josh James. Tonna decided to to take their foot off the gas giving Rhigos the opportunity to pressure the tonna line with some superb defending by all boys Rhigos failed to turn pressure into points. Further attacking pressure from Tonna gave the forwards more chance to turn pressure into points through tries from Jack Lloyd and Ben Doyle both converted by Josh James and Jordan Adderley.
With an outstanding performance from all players, the spectators and coaches are looking forward to a very enjoyable season.

Tonna v Brynamman
As forecast last week Tonna’s first win of the season arrived with a well deserved victory over Brynamman. The first half was a bit slow, with the boys not performing at their best, but they still managed to get to half time with the scores level with two converted tries a piece.
Half Time Score - Tonna 14 - Brynamman 14
After the break the boys pulled out all the stops and set a precedent for the rest of the season. The second half was played almost entirely within the opposition’s half, with the team – for they really performed as a team – outplaying and outscoring Brynamman two tries to nil. Unfortunately, Josh James was unable to replicate his first half 100% record, but made a good effort from two very difficult conversion attempts form out wide. Try scorers were Connor Perkins with two and Jack Lloyd and Jordan Adderley with one each. Credit goes to all the team for the tremendous effort put into an enjoyable if somewhat bruising game, which left the coaches with the extremely difficult choice of who to pick for “man of the match”.

After a great deal of discussion Rhodri Pearce was selected for a stand out performance which included some great tackling and a superb catch and return attacking run which set up the last try of the game.
Lets here it for the boys!!
